Oranges contain folacin, calcium, potassium, thiamin, niacin and magnesium
    400-ml orange juice
  • 2 scoops vanilla or tropical fruit Formula 1 from Herbalife
  • loads of crushed ice
  • 1/2 a large juicy orange
Peel and segment the orange and add it to the blender with all the other ingredients. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds.
It’s important to blend this one really well so that the Formula 1 powder is completely mixed into the juice.

If your orange is particularly tart, you might want to add a teaspoon of sugar or sweetener too… : )
Mochaccino Wow Wow Herbalife Shake
Awesome hot or chilled the Herbalife Mochaccino Wow Wow shake is a real crowd pleaser!
  • 2 scoops Cappuccino Flavour Formula 1 powder
  • 50ml skimmed milk
  • 250ml hot chocolate (4 teaspoons chocolate powder mixed with 250ml hot water until rich and creamy)
  • 1 banana

Mix up in a blender and enjoy.  This recipe creates a totally thick and frothy shake – it really is a bit of a treat and you can try it either hot or chilled for added variety. For a cold shake make the hot chocolate mix extra thick by only using 1/2 the water and increase the cold milk to make up the volume. Finally, throw in a handful of ice cubes… : )

Fresh Mint - an uplifting addition to a Herbalife shake
Fresh Mint - an uplifting addition to a Herbalife shake
This shake is so easy to make!
  • 2 scoops Chocolate flavour Formula 1
  • handful of torn mint leaves or 2 drops peppermint extract
  • 400ml skimmed or soy milk
Light and refreshing; this is a really simple shake.  If it seems a little thin after blending, then try adding a low fat chocolate flavour yoghurt or, as a treat, add some mint choc chip ice cream.

Chocolate & Coconut Formula 1 Shake

Coconut, lemongrass and chocolate Formula 1 shake - Exotic and refreshing
Coconut, lemongrass and chocolate Formula 1 shake - Exotic and refreshing
  • 2 scoops of Herbalife Formula 1 Chocolate flavour mix
  • 200ml low fat coconut milk
  • 1cm lemongrass* (or to taste)
  • 200ml skimmed milk
  • handful of ice cubes
Blitz ingrediants together in a blender and serve.  For extra special occasions (!) you could add a dusting of cocoa powder and desiccated coconut.
*LATE BREAKING NEWS:  As I was testing out this shake, my friend Gail came by and suggested adding a touch of lemon grass.   I love this fresh and exotic tang so I  immediately included a centimeter of lemongrass.  It brings the whole shake to life.  Thanks Gail!

Herbalife scoop spoon
Herbalife scoop spoon
Thanks to Myrtle for emailing to ask ‘what size is a Herbalife Scoop’ as I keep mentioning them in my recipes.
A:  Formula 1 shake scoop = 15ml: that’s about 3 teaspoons.
On a nutritionally balanced weight loss plan most people find that 2 scoops of F1 shake mix per meal is sufficient.

C:  Formula 3 protein powder scoop = 2.5ml.
This end of the scoop is smaller and used for the Formula 3 Personalised Protein powder.

Should you want to, you can add Personalised Protein Powder to all the shake recipes I’ve included on my blog.

Just peachy – shake recipe

1 x  of Personalised Protein Powder
1 x fresh peach (or half a tin of  in juice)
200ml x
200ml x skimmed milk
loads x ice
Mix together in a  and enjoy in the beautiful sunshine

Mandarin Madness Formula 1 Shake

  • 2 x scoops Chocolate Formula 1 powder
  • ½ tin mandarins (or you can use fresh instead if you’d prefer)
  • 1 x heaped teaspoon of drinking chocolate
  • 1 x banana (optional)
  • 300ml x milk or orange juice
Hands up – I’ll admit this isn’t the prettiest shake colour in the world (it’s a dull brown…) but I love the flavour.  The banana holds it all together but you need to drink it reasonably quickly or it does tend to separate.  I like it with juice but I think that might be a love/hate thing.
I’ve seen quite a few chocolate/orange shake ideas out there … so please do tell me if you have a better recipe than this!
